Roberta Lyn Nieto

Our sweet beautiful mom Roberta Lyn Nieto, 82, of Pine Grove California, has passed away. She passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2026 in her home with her children, husband and family by her side. She was put to rest on June 3rd, 2026

Roberta was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, as Roberta Lyn Roker on October 30th, 1943, to Raymond J. Roker and Florence Fredericksen, Roker, Garz. She was one of seven children. Brothers and sisters are Jessey Roker, Jim Roker, Delores Roker, Cloe Elaine Gonzalez, Susan Stibal, and Keith Roker.

Our mom Roberta spent most of her early years in Rigby Idaho on a spud farm. She and her sister Cloe helped their dad work the farm with the help of her other brothers and sisters.

Roberta went to Rigby High School where she met our dad, Jacob Lopez. They married and had 3 children: Danny Kay Lopez, Cathy Lyn Lopez and Melinda J Lopez . They raised their children in Idaho Falls, Idaho until they divorced. She then moved her children to Benicia, California, and then to Agnew Village in Santa Clara, California.

Roberta then met Wesley Wiggen in 1980. They were married for just a few months before his death.

Roberta later in life married her high school sweetheart Ruben Nieto. They were married on April 28th, 2000. They were married till her death in May 2026.

Roberta worked hard all her life. She went to Secretarial School to earn her certificate in short hand and night classes to become certified as a Maintenance Technician. She traveled to Japan to teach what she had learned. She used her skills as a tech working on a sprint car. She was part of the pit crew with her good friends.

Mom worked part time as a secretary and full time as a Maintenance Technician for Fairchild/National Semiconductor and then at IC Sensors. She later retired to her little mountain home in Pine Grove, California.

During the summer she took her kids to Idaho to spend time on the spud farm to help their grandpa and to spend time with family.

Roberta loved camping, Jeep Jamborees, sprint car races, bowling, golf, sewing, gardening and upholstering car seats and furniture. Most of all she loved picking huckleberries with her dad and sister Cloe.

In death Roberta joins her brother and sister Jessey Roker and Delores Roker, her parents Raymond and Florence, and her great grand baby Aleah Stebelton and Aleah's mom Jaime Stebelton, who died just a year ago.

She is survived by her children, Danny Kay Lopez, Cathy Lyn Lopez (Woodman), Melinda J Lopez (Lopopolo), husband Ruben Nieto, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grands. Also lots of grandchildren she gained from marriage. Along with her Extended family and Step children.

Roberta will be missed and forever remembered. We love you so much.
