Caroline B. Curtis

Caroline B. Curtis, age 81, peacefully passed away and returned to her heavenly home on June 22, 2026, due to complications from bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma).

As the oldest of five girls, Caroline B. Porter was born October 16, 1944, in Preston, Idaho, to MarDean Bennett Porter and Wayne Spatig Porter. When she was six years old, her family moved to Willard, Utah, and later to Ogden, Utah, where she attended Wasatch Elementary, Mount Ogden Junior High, and Ogden High School, graduating in 1963. That same summer, she married Elbert Curtis in the Logan, Utah Temple for time and all eternity. Together they are the proud parents of six children. At the time of her passing, Caroline and Elbert were less than three months shy of celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Caroline enjoyed oil painting and sewing, and building those talents was a blessing to her family and many others. When her youngest child started school, she earned an associate degree in Fashion Merchandising from Weber State University. That same year, 1983, she founded Kids Can Sew, Inc. The business has its own line of patterns, has been in operation for more than 40 years, and has been successfully passed on to her daughters.

Caroline was a lifelong, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, happily serving in callings at the ward and stake levels, with a particular focus on children and youth. She served in the Tucson Arizona Temple and, until her passing, was a service missionary, leading a group of fellow missionaries in preparing documents for family history extraction. Amid the

demands of running a business that required extensive travel, speaking engagements, and fashion shows, Caroline always prioritized her family — whether that meant preparing a delicious meal, lending a listening ear, doing hair (for four daughters), mending clothes, or keeping her children in line. She was a faithful presence at her six children's performances, sporting events, concerts, and dance and music recitals.

Caroline was a person of impeccable integrity, honesty, generosity, and love, as well as a remarkable listener. Once a friend, always a friend, and in her eyes, everyone was a friend or a potential friend.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Elbert Curtis; her children Leesa Bickmore, James Curtis, Teri Robertson (Eric), Tami Bright (Albert), Jason Curtis (Jodi), and Lyndee Lee (Ryan); three siblings, Janice Sheehan (Mike), Gwenev'er McCarthy (Doug), and Jeanene Porter; seventeen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Porter; her mother, MarDean Porter; her sister, Beverly Burkin; her niece, Raina Bybee; and her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Curtis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3500 W. Sumter Dr., Marana, AZ 85742, with a viewing from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery in St. George, Utah.
