Jane Padgett Bibb

Jane Marie Padgett Bibb, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 25, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Willie Massie Bibb.Born on February 23, 1932, in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Carroll William Padgett and Daisy Bell Tomlin Padgett. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Padgett, and her sister, Virginia “Toodle” Creasy.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She was a longtime member of the former College Hill Baptist Church, now Gospel Community Church College Hill.

She is survived by her two daughters, Angela D. Smith (Damien) of Evington and Vicky P. Kilbourn (Bill) of Lacey, Washington; eight grandchildren; and many dear friends and extended family members, including Michael Schmitt, who was always considered a son.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Tabatha Minnick, Tammi Eastridge and Kaley Schmitt for the loving care they provided in her home over the past year.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Andrew Moroz officiating.
