Ian Engels

In Loving Memory of Ian Engels
Ian Engels passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026, at the age of 24, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 18, 2002, Ian was known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh when they least expected it. He had a unique sense of style, an independent spirit, and a way of seeing the world that was entirely his own. Ian never felt the need to be anyone but himself, and those who loved him appreciated him for exactly that.
Ian loved basketball, gaming, spending time outdoors, and being with his friends. He valued the connections he made throughout his life and was deeply loyal to the people he cared about. He had a special love for animals, especially cats, and his beloved cat, Toast, was a constant companion and source of comfort.
Those who knew Ian will remember his warm smile, his humor, and the kindness he showed to others. Ian loved spending time with his friends and valued the connections he made throughout his life. The friendships he built brought him joy, laughter, and some of his happiest memories.
Ian is survived by his mother, Karie Engels; his father, Joseph Engels; his brother, Chad Engels; his sister, Josie Engels; extended family members; and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial for Ian Engels will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Orting Eagles Odd Fellow Hall in Orting, Washington. Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, photographs, memories, and laughter as they celebrate Ian’s life. Casual attire is encouraged, and guests are welcome throughout the afternoon and evening.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Ian’s laughter, friendship, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
