Terri Michelle Roberts
June 23, 1964 — April 9, 2026
❦
Terri Michelle Roberts, 61, of Tacoma, Washington, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, 2026. She was born on June 23, 1964, in Macon, Georgia, the beloved daughter of Marion James Rose and Cynthia Ann Rose.
A 1982 graduate of Central High School in Macon, Terri carried the warmth and grit of her Georgia roots with her even as she made a life on the other side of the country in Tacoma, where she raised her family and built a home filled with love.
Terri lived a life threaded through with creativity. A gifted artist, she had a rare ability to take the simplest materials — pencil and paper, needle and thread, yarn and hook — and turn them into something that carried meaning. Her hand-drawn pieces revealed her keen eye and steady patience. Her sewing reflected her devotion to craftsmanship. Her crochet, perhaps most of all, captured the warmth she gave so freely: every stitch a small act of love, every finished piece a quiet gift to whoever received it. To know Terri was to be given something she had made — and to feel seen.
She had a rare gift for connecting with people from all backgrounds, she had an open heart, she prayed for everyone. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and light to so many, and her impact will be carried forward in the lives of all who knew her.
Above all, Terri was a devoted mother and grandmother. The pride and joy of her life were her children and grandchildren, and her love for them was the truest reflection of who she was.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Marion James Rose and Cynthia Ann Rose; her three children, Adrienne Nicole Walker, Clifford Marion Roberts, and Brian Smith Roberts; her three grandchildren, Mia Mary Nicole Walker, Jada Cynthia Michelle Walker, and Tyree Lemarr Walker; her devoted sister, Dr. Sylvia Rose-Brown of Macon, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were made richer because of her.
A celebration of Terri's life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 11020 S Tacoma Way, Lakewood, Washington.
My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.
Oftentimes He weaveth sorrow,
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver’s skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.
