Some of my favorite days with Jerry were spent hiking many miles on trails at Snoqualmie Pass, the Olympic Peninsula, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. We enjoyed nature, reminisced about the wonderful childhood our parents provided and planned our next hike. I was so fortunate to have a brother who loved to hike and was a perfect trail companion. Another activity we shared was ‘Mystery Mother’s Day’ when we surprised and honored our beloved mother. These day long adventures included destinations such as Lake Quinault Lodge, Leavenworth, Rosario, Alderbrook, etc. As we departed Mom would excitedly start guessing where we were going. Misleading turn signals added to the mystery and fun. Thanks to Jerry’s sense of humor and his ability to make Mom feel very special, these were happy and memorable outings. I will always cherish these and other adventures I shared with my brother. Kathy Stevenson
