Sharon Lee Hauptman

Sharon Lee Hauptman (nee Krugmire) died on August 1, 2026, with her loving husband, Martin, at her side. Sharon was born in Tacoma, Washington on May 2, 1942 to Richard B. (Buzz) Krugmire, Sr. and Teresa Riconosciuto Krugmire. Sharon attended Grant Elementary, Jason Lee Jr. High, and graduated from Stadium High School in 1960. Sharon was a Tacoma girl through and through, leaving only to attend Central Washington University and Riverside Community College.

Sharon married Daniel C. Lincoln, Jr. in 1963. They had two children together, Rachelle and Daniel. Sharon married Martin Hauptman in 1985. They shared a wonderful life, building a home that served as the gathering place for countless family gatherings. Sharon worked for many years as a para-professional for Tacoma Public Schools. Her Catholic faith was primary in her life, and she was a longtime member of St. Rita’s Parish.

Sharon was the granddaughter of Benjamin (Ben) and Edith Krugmire, and Alfonso Luigi (Louie) and Caterina Rosina (Rose) Capparelli Riconosciuto. Sharon was Louie and Rose’s first grandchild, and she was very proud of her Italian heritage, keeping many of the Italian family traditions alive. She was a tireless genealogist, digging through family records long before it all went online. Over the years she investigated many branches of the family tree, to the delight of her extended family. Sharon loved the beautiful garden that Martin maintained at their home. After her daughter Rachelle died, she was dedicated to keeping her memory alive by displaying her beautiful artwork throughout their home, changing the paintings with the seasons.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard B. (Dick) Krugmire, Jr., and her daughter, Rachelle Lincoln. She is survived by her husband, Martin Hauptman; her siblings Barbara Nelson; Susan Matteson (Charlie); and David Krugmire (Ginger); son, Daniel C. Lincoln, III (Keith); and granddaughters Sarah Lincoln, Naomi Lincoln (Christian), and Miriam Lincoln. Funeral mass will be held at St. Rita’s Parish in Tacoma.
