In Loving Memory of Walter William “Wally” Walker

Walter William Walker, known to almost everyone as Wally, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 64. He was born on July 14, 1962, in Bremerton, Washington, to Robert C. Walker and Sallie A. Walker. Wally spent his life in the Puget Sound area and made his final home in Port Orchard, Washington.

Wally married Barbara Bates. They had no children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Richard G. Walker. He is survived by his sister, Melody A. Johnson, and his niece, Nichole M. Bruins.

Some of Wally’s fondest childhood memories were made in the skies above Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. He loved flying with his grandfather, Ralph Walker, and his father, Robert Walker. Grandpa Walker especially enjoyed taking Wally and all his grandchildren on airplane rides, creating treasured memories that would last a lifetime. Wally also enjoyed camping, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Growing up at Apex Airport was an adventure in itself. Wally and his siblings and cousins spent their days riding bicycles, motorcycles, and horses; swinging from a large tire; and climbing the airport tower. Those childhood days were filled with exploration, excitement, family, and the freedom that made growing up at the airport so special.

Wally spent much of his adult life working as a cab driver, a job that suited his enjoyment of people. He liked meeting new faces, talking with passengers, and helping people get where they needed to go. Through his work, he met people from all walks of life and had countless opportunities to connect with others along the way. Driving gave Wally the chance to interact with people and remain a part of the community he had called home throughout his life.

Near the end of his life, Wally found Jesus Christ and embraced Him as his Lord and Savior. His faith became a meaningful part of his story, bringing comfort and hope as his life drew to a close. Those who loved Wally can find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and home with his Lord and Savior.

Wally requested that no service be held and that he be cremated. We have honored his wishes, allowing family and friends to remember him in their own personal ways.

Rest in peace, Wally. You are home with your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
