Claudette Rachael Polomski

May 18, 1943 — Feb 12, 2026

Lifes simplest pleasures can be the most precious...........

Claudette Polomski, 82, of Rotonda West, Florida, and a formerly longtime resident of Voluntown, Connecticut, passed away on February 12, 2026, following a brief stay at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida after a five year journey with Myeloid Leukemia.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on May 18, 1943, Claudette was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona St. Germain.

She worked in administration at Norwich Free Academy in Norwich CT for 33 years retiring in June of 2003.

For many years, she was a well-known figure in Eastern Connecticut as one half of the popular DJ duo "Reeling In The Years." Alongside her beloved husband of 43 years, Gerard "Jerry" Polomski, she provided the music for hundreds of weddings and anniversaries, bringing joy and music to the lives of many.

Claudette was also a seasoned world traveler who explored five continents and loved life on the open sea. Of all her travels, her heart belonged to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she and Jerry spent over 25 years building a lifetime of memories in their favorite international destination.

Whether she was tending to her flower gardens, baking in her kitchen, or being on her pontoon boat on the Beach Pond with Jerry, their friends, and her beloved constant companion, her Bichon, Lilly, Claudette found beauty in life’s simple moments such as sunrises or sunsets on the water.

She is survived by her husband Gerard "Jerry" Polomski; her children, Richard Nordoff of Florida and Laura Royce of Myrtle Beach, SC; her brother, Jerry St. Germain of Albuquerque, NM; and her sister, Jeanne Hollister of Ledyard Ct. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leona.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Claudette’s memory to the Moffitt Cancer Center or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, two organizations that were meaningful to her.
