Ralph Larry Gardner
Mar 26, 1939 — Sep 22, 2026
In Loving Memory of Ralph "Larry" Gardner
Ralph "Larry" Gardner, born March 26, 1939, in Champlain, New York, peacefully passed on September 22, 2026, to join his heavenly family and friends.
Larry was the son of Hazel (Brow) and Reginald Gardner. A man of many talents and practical skills, Larry could apply his talents to just about anything. His knowledge of electrical work, woodworking, and plumbing served him well throughout his life. He dedicated 25 years of his working life to maintaining the New York State Capitol Building, where his skills and hard work helped care for one of New York's most historic landmarks.
Larry proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard and Army Reserve. His commitment to serving others was an important part of the life he built and the great work ethic he demonstrated his entire life.
Larry was a friend to everyone he met through his many adventures across the United States, whether it was Commodore of the Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club, towing his motor home, touring on his motorcycle or driving around in his corvette.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel (Brow) and Reginald Gardner; sister, Joan Leon; wife, Jeanne Gardner; and partner, Jackie Tuttle.
Larry was a family man whose legacy will live on through the generations that follow him. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Alexander; son, Todd Gardner and fiancee Teresa Morey; stepchildren, Kelly Oathout and Chris Oathout; grandchildren, Tess Gardner and Joshua Gardner; step grandchildren Megan Ward, Morgan Oathout, Madison Oathout, Kyle Oathout; and nine great-grandchildren.
Larry leaves behind family and friends who will remember him not only for the life he lived, but for the knowledge, skills, stories, and memories he passed down along the way. His hands built, repaired, maintained, and cared for many things throughout his lifetime.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. May he rest peacefully, surrounded by the memories of a life well lived and the love of the family and friends he leaves behind.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
