Theresa Hight Kennedy

Port Charlotte, Theresa "Tessie" Hight Kennedy, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 23, 2026. She was born December 29, 1936 in Concord, NH, the daughter of the late Gerald H and Dorothea (Farmer) Hight. Dorothea passed in 1943, and thereafter Esther (Todd) Hight was her mother until her passing in 1998. She grew up in Weare, NH and moved to New Boston, NH when she married the love of her life, Robert Kennedy, where they raised their six children. During her life, she enjoyed many activities including golfing, skiing, waterskiing, ice skating, gardening, traveling, entertaining and most dear to her was spending time with family and friends. In later years, Tessie and Bobby enjoyed splitting their time between their lake house in NH and their home in Port Charlotte, FL. Tessie is survived by her son Marvin Kennedy; her daughter Tamra Kennedy (Nancy); her daughter Tenley Welch (Donny); her daughter Tonia Kennedy; and her son Merrick Kennedy (Joanne). She is predeceased by her husband Robert Kennedy; her son Mark Kennedy; her sister Janet Purington and her sister Sylvia Brown. Tessie has eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
