Betty May Fondow
May 13, 1930 — May 5, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a beautiful life, we celebrate the life of Betty May Fondow, who passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 95.Born on May 13, 1930, in Ashland, Wisconsin, Betty lived a life centered on love, kindness, joy, and family. To so many, she was simply “Grandma Betty” — a title that perfectly reflected the warmth and love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
Betty was known for her joyful spirit, beautiful smile, and caring heart. She loved to dance, have her sweets, laugh, cook for those she loved, and make people feel welcome. She carried herself with grace and gentleness, never worrying much. Her calm spirit and unwavering kindness were a comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
She dedicated many years serving others through her work at Broadway Southwest Cafe and with the Mesa Public Schools cafeteria, where her friendly smile and hardworking nature touched countless lives. Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly survived by her brother, Myron (Rosie) Anderson; her children, Dave (Jayne) Fondow, Cindy Fondow, Lynn Brosemann, and Karen (Ian) Fondow; her grandchildren, Nicole (Shane) Buntin, Chris (Amanda) Fondow, Adam Brosemann, and Ember (JT) Brosemann; as well as 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerome Fondow; her parents, Sam and Mary Anderson; five sisters and one brother; and her son-in-law, George Brosemann. Though her family’s hearts ache in her absence, they find peace in knowing Betty’s legacy of love, joy, faith, and kindness will continue through the many lives she touched. Heaven has surely gained a Joyful Dancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Falconer Funeral Home 251 W Juniper Avenue Gilbert, AZ 85233. With a reception to follow.
