Bonnie Jean Tucker, 83, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026. Bonnie considered herself a proud Arizonan, having moved there from Palatine, Illinois with her family as a child. A member of the first ever graduating class of Arcadia High School, she then attended Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). It was during this time she found and married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Tucker. Bonnie had a long and distinguished career in nursing, included various levels of responsibilities at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Good Samaritan, and as Director of Nursing at Arizona State University Health Center. During this time she and Chuck started their family of three, and while raising her children she earned her Masters in Hospital and Healthcare Administration from Arizona State University. Bonnie’s administrative nursing career included positions as Vice President of Patient Services/Intirum CEO at Appleton Memorial Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin, and Vice President of Patient and Professional Services/ Interim CEO at Phoenix Memorial Hospital. She culminated her administrative career as Vice President of Professional Services of Mesa Lutheran Hospital and Valley Lutheran Hospital. Bonnie was instrumental in developing and building the Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.

When her husband passed in 2001, Bonnie decided to leave her administrative roles and returned to nursing as a Public Health Nurse at the Pima Maricopa Salt River Indian Community, working there for 10 years before retiring. She often said that her last 10 years working with the native community was the best and most rewarding time in her life.

Bonnie is preceded into heaven by her husband Charles C. Tucker, and brother Roger Peterson. She is survived by brothers Lester and Richard, and sister Gladys. She is also survived by her three devoted and loving children Charles, Pamela, and Jeffrey. Bonnie’s legacy is her grandchildren Brandon, Stephen, Justin, Alysa, Emma, Daniele, and great grandchildren Michael, AnnaMarie, Leanne, Silas, and Jax.
