Diane Marie Mayberry

Oct 9, 1947 — Aug 23, 2025

Diane Marie Mayberry, 77, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 23,2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9,1947, in San Francisco, California, to Jack and Kathleen Westrup. Diane grew up in San Francisco and Santa Clara, where she developed lifelong friendships she cherished deeply.

For more than 30 years, Diane worked as a beloved hair stylist, known not only for her skill but also for the warmth and generosity she showed everyone who sat in her chair. In 1966, she married her husband, Gary, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. She was the proud mother of two daughters and the adoring grandmother of four, who were her greatest joy.

Diane had a vibrant personality and a gift for making every moment special. She loved being the heart of gatherings, from family holidays—especially Christmas, when her home sparkled like a boutique—to high school reunions, where she delighted in creating bling shirts for her classmates. A lifelong bowler, she played in leagues, traveled to tournaments, and proudly made matching shirts for her teams.

She never missed an opportunity to support her children and grandchildren— attending dance recitals, football games, cheer and dance competitions, musicals, rallies, and more. Diane also loved playing bingo, cards (where she always insisted on going first), and bunco. She treasured traveling, whether to Italy and Paris, Disneyland with her children, or any family vacation—never wanting to miss a thing.

Diane is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Gary; her daughters Michelle and Melanie; her grandchildren Taylor, Hayden, Jake, and Tatum; and

her brother Tom Westrup and brother and sister-in law Steve and Mercy Mayberry. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Kathleen, and her in-laws Tillman and Barbara Mayberry.
