Linda Darlene Hallstrom (70) of Chandler, Arizona, died on June 14, 2026.

She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on September 26, 1955 to Kenneth and Darlene Boggess. As the oldest of four, Linda was a natural leader. But if you were to see photos of her from childhood, she was one of the pack, often dressed in matching outfits with her three beloved sisters: Jeanie, Joy, and Cindy. Her childhood was colored with memories of building the family cabin in Prescott, Arizona, and four-wheeling in the desert with her sisters, Grandma Eva, and Grandpa Andy. She called Gilbert, Arizona her hometown and graduated from Gilbert High School where she served as class president before enrolling at Arizona State University.

She found her career home in healthcare, ultimately building a career in medical coding and earning a reputation as an expert in the field. She was highly respected within the profession, serving in leadership roles on both the national American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) board and local AAPC chapter boards. What fueled Linda's passion for the profession was her role as an educator, teaching aspiring coders from 2009 to the end of her life. She was always eager to help students reach their goals and establish successful careers of their own.

Linda’s greatest pride and joy in life was her three children: Anders, Rachel, and Laura. She was their biggest supporter, fiercest advocate, and most dependable source of encouragement. Her favorite hobbies were whatever her children were into, so you often found her at sporting events, volunteering, or with a playbill in hand at theater performances. She loved traveling to new places, a passion first nurtured in her youth by her Great Aunt Billie and Great Uncle Harry. Some of her most memorable journeys took her to the Holy Land, France, and Lithuania.

She was known for her playfulness, humility, and genuine kindness, always meeting the moment with just the right combination of the three. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and supported, whether they were family members, friends, colleagues, or students.

Guided by her deep faith, Linda lived a life of purpose, compassion, and generosity. Her legacy of strength, grace, and unconditional love will live on through the countless lives she touched. Above all else, Linda will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the unwavering support she offered to those fortunate enough to know her.

Linda is survived by her children, Anders Hallstrom, Rachel Hallstrom, and Laura Hallstrom; her sisters, Jeanie Morrison (John), Joy Winger (Larry), and Cindy McCutchen (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and former students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Darlene Boggess.

A celebration of Linda's life is being planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.
