Growing up in a large and loving family, she learned the values of faith, perseverance, compassion, and hard work that would guide her throughout her life.

Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and caring heart were an inspiration to all who knew her.

In 1989, Evelyn married Roy Hudson, and together they shared years of companionship, love, and devotion. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Hudson, who passed away in September 2011.

Evelyn was admired for her grace, elegance, and impeccable sense of style. A fashionable woman with a vibrant personality, she carried herself with dignity and confidence wherever she went. Whether attending church, spending time with family, or participating in community events, she was always remembered for her poise, warmth, and beautiful presence.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Albert Bailey; her husband, Roy Hudson; her siblings Madge, Reggie, Harold, Auther, Donald, Elsie, and Mary Lou; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Jah-Nya Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Sonia McKenzie; her loving sisters, Gem and Cynthia; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel Lewis, Jahmar Lewis, and Monique McKenzie; her treasured great-grandchildren, Danielle Lewis, Leilani McKenzie, and Aleiya Curtis; her precious great-great-granddaughter, K'ora Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends.
