Ginette Marie Provencher

Aug 16, 1952 — Jun 9, 2026

Ginette Marie Provencher, 73, of North Port, FL, formally of Manchester and Dalton, NH passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Disraeli, PQ, Canada, on August 16, 1952, Ginette was the beloved daughter of Gerald and Estelle (Roy) Drapeau.

She received her LPN nursing license from St. Joseph School of Nursing, in Nashua, NH and graduated in 1974.

Following her education, as a devout woman of faith, Ginette had a calling to serve God and entered the convent in 1975, where she served as a member of the Dominicaines Missionnaires Adoratrices in Beauport, Quebec, Canada for 25 years, and did missionary work in Alberta and Peru.

She eventually left the convent and soon after reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Raymond Provencher. He was the love of her life, and she was the love of his life. Blessed to be brought back together by fate, they rekindled their love, married and spent the next 27 years devoted to each other.

Ginette will be remembered as soft spoken, doing God's work by treating everyone she met with compassion, great kindness and generosity, always seeing the good in everyone.

Ginette was devoted to her extended family and treasured the time she spent with each one, including her dearest friends. The beautiful memories she created with family and friends will live in our hearts forever, and she will be deeply missed by all.

She greatly appreciated the love and care she received at home from her niece, Shannon Desmarais.

Besides her beloved husband, Ray, she leaves behind a sister, Denise Watts and her life parter, Oscar Goodwin of Lake Suzy, FL, a brother, Peter “Joe” Drapeau of Bedford, NH, a sister, Lucy Farella and her husband, Richard of Bradenton, FL, a brother, Rejean “Reg” Drapeau and his wife, Peggy of North Port, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Florida Cancer Center and Millennium, and the staff of Tidewell Hospice who provided comfort and support during her illness.

Ginette’s favorite charity was St. de Paul, always praising them for their good work with the poor. Donations in her memory can be made to your local St. Vincent de Paul organization.

A memorial visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home, North Port, FL on July 7, 2026 from 10:00-12:00 pm. Followed by Mass at 1:00 PM at San Pedro Church, RT 41 in North Port.
