Jill Arlene (Moore) Kelly passed away at home on September 27, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born in Anderson, IN on May 27, 1939, to her parents John and Mary Moore. Before settling in Pendleton, IN, the family briefly lived in Atlanta, GA and then Crawfordsville, IN. Jill graduated from Pendleton High School in 1957. During her senior year, she met Marvin while she was working as a soda jerk at Tanke’s Drug Store. They were married on August 16, 1957, and remained married for 66 years prior to his passing on Christmas Eve 2023.

Jill’s work history included secretary at Meridian Mutual Insurance Co., produce manager at Macy’s grocery store, clerk at Hook’s Drug Store, Probate Clerk and court reporter in the Madison County Circuit Court, and then finally, as a legal secretary for Douglas Owens. Upon her retirement in January 2002, she and Marvin moved to North Port, FL into the house they had built. While living in North Port, they became members of the North Port Community United Church of Christ. They also enjoyed playing cards, especially Hand & Foot with friends. Jill was a member of the Red Hat Society; loved playing Skip-Bo, dominos, crocheting, and knitting.

Survivors included her daughter, Cheryl Williamson and Cheryl’s children: Brock (Erin); Chase and his daughter, Waverly; Mamaw’s BFF, Paige and her daughter, Harper; son Garry (Shannon) and their children, Ryan (Lauren wife & daughter, Ari); Sasha (son, Ezra); Amanda (sons, Landon & Jasper); son Jerry (Christin) and their children, Jerin (wife Tiffany & daughter, Pierce); Justis (husband James and children, Juniper, Joplin, & Jasper). In addition, she is survived by her five siblings and their respective families, all of whom are scattered around the states: Jack, Joe, Janie, Jennifer, and Jay. She is also survived by her cat, Socks.

Jill was proceeded in death by her sister-in-law, Jackie and brothers-in-law, Sonny and Harry, as well as Marvin’s four siblings (Martha, Fred, Dale, and Lloyd) and their spouses.

After cremation, a private service will occur at the Sarasota National Cemetery where she will be placed with Marvin.
