In Loving Memory of Michael Gerard Mannion

March 19, 1951 – September 24, 2026

Michael Gerard Mannion, 75, passed away on September 24, 2026, following a sudden cardiac arrest. A proud United States Air Force veteran, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and unforgettable character, Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and a life lived with a spirit all his own.

Michael spent more than 20 years living in Lusby, Maryland, before moving to North Port, Florida, in 2021. During his years in Maryland, he shared his knowledge and passion for food as a culinary teacher in Calvert County, inspiring others through his love of cooking and cuisine.

A true food enthusiast, Michael delighted in discovering exquisite cuisine from around the world. He was a coffee aficionado who appreciated a good cup of coffee, a devoted lover of dogs, and a black belt in martial arts—a testament to his discipline and determination.

But above all his interests and accomplishments, Michael’s greatest pride and purpose in life were his sons, Joshua and Benjamin. He was an extraordinary father who gave of himself selflessly, always putting his boys first. So much of what he did was driven by his love for them, and his devotion to his family was at the very heart of who he was.

Michael also had a generous heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors and help those around him. He might have been a little grouchy at times, but those who knew him understood that beneath that gruff exterior was a man who meant well and cared deeply. He was uniquely himself, and that is precisely how he will be remembered.

Michael’s memory will live on through his beloved sons, Joshua Mannion and Benjamin Mannion; his grandchildren, Mason Mannion, Scarlet Mannion, and Amelia Mannion; and all those whose lives he touched along the way.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the love he poured into his family, the kindness he showed his neighbors, and the memories he created will endure for generations.

Michael was a father who gave everything for his boys, a grandfather whose legacy lives on in his grandchildren, and a man who will never be forgotten by those who loved him.

Rest peacefully, Michael. You were loved more than words can say, and you will be missed more than you know.
