Robert H. Burroughs, 87 of North Port, FL, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Port Charlotte Hospice Facility in his sleep.

Robert was born on Friday, August 25, 1939, in Washington, D.C at Sibley Hospital, the son of the late Ernest Hassler Burroughs and the late Ethel Margaret Cole-Burroughs. Brother William Burroughs of Plains, MT. Surviving wife Sheila M Raulerson-Burroughs of North Port, FL.

Surviving sons; Robert Burroughs of Hampstead, NH, Greg Barfield of North Port, FL, Eric Barfield of Sarasota, FL, and Travis Barfield of Myakka, FL.

Surviving daughters are Barbara Ronan-Burroughs of Revere, MA, Roberta Burroughs of Revere, MA along with 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, September 15, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, located at Farley Funeral Home in Venice, FL. Burial is to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL at 11:00 am. Army Military will be present along with the American Legion to present a 21-gun salute, TAPS, flag folding presentation and chaplain services.
