Kent Chalfin, 71, of Venice, FL, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones.
A celebration of life service and burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 14 at Venice Memorial Gardens, 1950 Center Rd, Venice, FL 34293. Flowers may be ordered and guestbook signed at www.farleyfuneralhome.com/obituaries. Memorials may be made to the Stray Animal Adoption Program, www.adoptastray.com or P.O. Kent was born October 29, 1946 in Middletown, OH to Charles and Dorothy Chalfin. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1964 and from Eastern Kentucky University in 1968 where he attended on a full tennis scholarship. He served in the US Army from November 6, 1968 until June 10, 1970. Kent was employed as an Insurance Underwriter with Ohio Casualty Insurance where he worked for 32 years until he retired. He was an avid tennis player his entire life and a member of the Jacaranda Country Club.
Kent is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Kathryn of Venice, FL, his daughter, Heather Hulak (Dwayne) of Alexandria, KY, his brother Charles ""Tim"" Chalfin (Beverly) of N. Ft Myers, FL, his nieces Amber and Erin Chalfin of Norcross, GA, his cousin Jane Rausch (Werner) of Stormville, NY, his cousin Jon Trettel (Barb) of O'Fallon, MO, and his two loving Labs, Jagger and JoJo.
