Albert R. St. Jean, 86, of Venice, formerly of Maine passed away on June 7, 2016 after a long fight with Alzheimer's Disease. Al was born on January 28, 1930 in Sanford, ME to Leon and Elza (Johnson) St. Jean. He grew up in Sanford, and moved to Washington, DC as a young man. Al graduated from Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, DC with a Master's Degree in Accounting, and made a career as a certified public accountant with the I.R.S. in Washington and Baltimore, MD for 33 years. He earned the position of Chief of the Baltimore Appeals Division. Upon his retirement, Al lived in Venice for 26 years. His interests included music, skiing, running, tennis, and motorcycling. He played the trumpet as a young man, and then again after his retirement in 1987. He performed in many local orchestras and concert bands including the North Port Concert Band, Port Charlotte Concert Band & Orchestra, and the Venice Concert Band. He is survived by Audrey, his wife of 61 years, sons Mark and his wife Sue, David and his wife Yvona, & Steven and his wife Margaret, daughter Lisa, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 2 brothers, Edmund & Paul. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert. Al's family will receive friends at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel from 1:30 until 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 18th, with a celebration of his life at 2:00pm and refreshments after the service.
