Arthur W. Richart, age 95, of Venice, Florida, died on August 22, 2014. He was born in Queens, New York on March 2, 1919. He formally lived in Packanack Lake, NJ and Myrtle Beach, SC. Art served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and Newark College of Engineering. Prior to retiring he was employed by Leslie Controls, Inc. a manufacturer of automatic control valves and instrumentation and retired in 1981 as Vice-President. Art was active athletically having played semi-pro baseball in N.J. as well as the Navy and was a very avid golfer for over 60 years and was a member of Mission Valley CC in Nokomis, FL. He was a Christian of strong faith and a member of the Venice Presbyterian Church. Art is survived by his son, Douglas of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a step-son, Terry Wolff of Carson, NM; a granddaughter, Melanie McMullen of Fort Pierce, Florida and two great-grandchildren, Tate and Brook. Art was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, in 2013. A visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at Venice Presbyterian Church at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 30, 2014 with burial to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Venice Presbyterian Church, Attn: ""Making Our Visions Whole"" program, 111 Firenze Avenue E., Venice, Florida 34285. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
