Barbara J. Edwards (March), born February 9, 1926 in Decatur, Illinois to Raymond and Blanche (Dodd) March - loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away July 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick and daughter Michelle. Surviving are her 4 children: Sandee of Franklin, TN, Rick (Deanna) of Peoria, IL, Greg (Joni) of Des Moines, IA, and Sally (Pete) of Venice, FL. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren Chad, Lara, Elise, Craig, Cari, Annie, Brian, Jack, Molly, and Ryan, and 11 great grandchildren.
Barbara lived her life loving and caring for her family and in service to her Lord, and was adored by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who called her ""Mema.""
During her marriage to her beloved husband Dick, she devoted herself to their relationship, as did he. Together they were an example of love, faith, and devotion to their children, grandchildren, and their entire extended family.
Also surviving are her sisters Jackie (Corby) Lyon of Carmel, IN and Patt (George) Kuhns of Decatur, IL, and brother Larry (Joan) March of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Blanche March, brothers Dick, Dean, & Don March, and sister Juanita (March) Lawrence.
Barb was active in Kings Daughters, PEO International, and always her Presbyterian churches in Peoria, IL and Venice, FL, where she served the Lord as both a Deacon and an Elder.
Her loving and infectious smile will be missed by all that loved her. Barb's life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20th at Venice Presbyterian Church, with inurnment following in the church memorial garden. A second celebration of her life will be held later in Barbara's hometown of Peoria, IL. Her family would like to thank TideWell Hospice and VeniceRegionalMedicalCenter for all of their loving care and support.
