Beatrice Sandra ""Sandy"" Plesz, 90 of Venice, FL and formerly of Columbia, CT, passed away in Venice, FL. Sandy was born on January 11, 1927 in Mingo Junction, Ohio to Jesse and Fannie Petrella. Sandy spent her adult life working for Electro-Motive Mfg. in Willimantic, CT as a Lab Technician and for Willimantic Trust Co. in the accounting Department. She enjoyed Polka music and dancing. She and Ed would travel to all the Polka Dances and festivals in CT-NY-RI and New Port Richey, FL. She also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for friends at their home in Columbia, CT. Sandy is pre-deceased by her husband Edward Plesz. She leaves behind her son, William Plesz and Daughter-in-law Irene Plesz of Venice, FL, two grandchildren Stephanie Plesz of Sarasota, FL and Andrew Plesz and his wife Kastania of Fort Myers, FL and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dearest friend Mary (Rosie) Plesz and nephew Thomas (Tom) Plesz of Rhode Island who were always there to help and care for her.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful people at the Sunset Lake Health and Rehab Center and Tidewell Hospice in Venice, FL for their compassionate care and support in her final days. Sandy will be buried in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willimantic, CT.
