Betty Jane Carduner Lane

Feb 17, 1934 — Jun 15, 2026

Betty Jane Mount Carduner Lane, 92, of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on February 17, 1934, in Hightstown, New Jersey, Betty grew up surrounded by family and community, values that stayed with her throughout her long and meaningful life. She spent most of her years in New Jersey before enjoying chapters in California and Branson, Missouri, and finally finding her beloved home along the shores of Venice.

A graduate of Hightstown High School and Lasell University, Betty was a bright, capable woman whose quiet strength and steady presence were a source of comfort to those who knew her. She expressed her creativity through crafts, and she especially cherished her walks along the beach in Venice, where the sound of the waves and the beauty of the sunset brought her deep peace and joy.

Betty’s greatest pride and happiness came from her family. She was a loving mother, mother‑in‑law, and grandmother, always ready with a listening ear, a kind word, and a gentle smile. She will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and the way she made others feel cared for and at home.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Carduner, who passed in 1974; her husband, Jack Lane, who passed in 2022; and her sister, Ruth Garry, who passed in 2022. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kim, and her husband, John Benson; her son, Scott, and his wife, Sandy Carduner; and her treasured grandchildren, Kevin and Belle Carduner. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, creativity, and quiet grace.

Betty’s family will forever hold her in their hearts and give thanks for the many memories they shared—of laughter, simple moments, and the gentle example she set each day.
