Brian Paul Dorward

It is with profound sadness that this obituary is written for Brian Paul Dorward, who passed away suddenly on March 24th, 2016 at his residence in North Port, Florida, at the age of 73. Brian was an enthusiastic bridge player in his retired years and bridge rounds at the North Port community center brought true enjoyment, particularly for the friendships established and comradery exchanged. As a teacher and educator for more than 30 years in Toronto, Ontario, Brian was passionate about academic challenge and life-long learning. In his personal time, complex renovations, mechanical repairs or mastering new technology was always an edifying process for Brian. With a genuine sense of encouragement and humor, Brian often had comical anecdotes to share with family and friends during times of need. Although divorced, Brian will be dearly missed by his wife of 39 years Linda Dorward, children Kristine and Adam, daughter-in-law Serena and grand-daughter Julia. Charitable donations to Suncoast Humane Society are appreciated.
