Claude Henry Armstrong, age 77, of Venice, Florida and former resident of Essex and Colchester, Vermont, passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2013. He was born on November 4, 1936 in Warren, Ontario, Canada. Claude was a member of the Elks club, and was part of the original group that founded the Burlington Amateur Hockey Association (BAHA) in 1964. Claude worked at Sears in Burlington for 32 years, and owned C&G Appliances for 7 years. Claude lived life to the fullest and enjoyed playing golf. He loved his family and all the time they spent together. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria; a daughter, Lisa Croteau and her husband Peter of Alexandria, Virginia and a son, John Armstrong and his wife Donna Henry Armstrong of North Andover, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind two loving grandchildren, Jenna and Courtney Armstrong. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice or to the Alzheimer's Association. Farley Funeral home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
