Connie Sue Johnson

Connie Sue Johnson, age 74, passed away on June 9, 2018, in North Port, Florida. Connie is survived by her loving husband, James R.Johnson, of 52 years. Also, one great grandson, five granddaughters, one grandson, three sons, one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Connie graduated from Bluefield Business College in Bluefield, West Virginia. Over the years she worked for the National Broadcasters Association and Gillette Corp. Her proudest accomplishment was going to Washington, D.C., in search of a career, meeting the love of her life, and becoming a parent to two endearing children, later to be followed by two more loving sons. Growing up in West Virginia, Connie was an accomplished musician as an all-state saxophone and baritone player. She played piano by ear, and was a pioneer in girl sports for basketball, golf, tennis, and bowling. Life was full of treasured moments for Connie. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, walking on the beach collecting shells, yard sales, gardening, and bird watching. Connie showed love for her family in fun and caring ways. She entertained them all with puppet shows, plays, games, snorkeling in the Crystal River springs, and making toys. The family will celebrate Connie's life in Tennessee later in the summer. Her family will continue to carry her love with them, and will always feel joyful that they were blessed to be a part of her life.
