Curtis B. Flora
June 16, 1942 — April 12, 2026
Curtis B. (“Curt”) Flora, 83, of North Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by his wife and son.
Curt was born on June 16, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to Mildred and Joseph Flora. He spent many years in Trotwood, Ohio, before relocating to North Venice, Florida, in 2016. Curt was the owner and operator of a manufacturing business, New Carlisle Tool, where he dedicated over 25 years of his career.
Curt shared a remarkable 61-year marriage with his beloved wife, Susan. The two met at Manchester College, where Curt swept Susan off her feet and convinced her to follow him to The Ohio State University—beginning a lifetime of love, partnership, and adventure together. Curt and Susan also traveled extensively and found great joy in exploring the world side by side.
Curt was a man of many talents and great generosity. He was known for his ability to fix almost anything, his love of cars, and his wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed joking with others and brought laughter to those around him. Curt was a positive and active member of his community, including his involvement with the Church of the Brethren in Trotwood, Ohio, Christ Venice Global Methodist Church in Venice, Florida, and Rotary. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who deeply cherished his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Meredith Peters (Cliff) of Wisconsin, Andrew Flora (Deanna) of Ohio, and Emily Leipold (Terry) of Singapore; his grandchildren, Grant and Joseph Peters; Mia, Claire, and Aden Flora; and Maya, Malcolm, Alexa, and Oscar Leipold; and his brother, Reis Flora (Nima) of Melbourne, Australia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Joseph Flora, and his sister, Susan King.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Venice Global Methodist Church, 1475 Center Road, Venice, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Venice Global Methodist Church or Agape Flights in Venice, Florida.
