Daria Anne Nafziger
May 11, 1954 — Mar 3, 2026
Daria Nafziger (née Chomyk), 72, of Venice Florida, formerly of Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 11, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, Daria lived a life filled with love, faith, and deep devotion to family and friends. Proud of her Ukrainian heritage, she carried its traditions with grace and a welcoming spirit. She had a special gift for bringing people together—there was always room for one more at her table. She also had an adventurous heart and loved to travel, always excited for the memories each new journey would bring.
She shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Rod, whose love and partnership was a constant source of strength and joy. Together they built a blended family grounded in love, respect, togetherness, and a home where everyone felt welcome. For ten years, Daria and Rod owned Ciao Gelato in Venice, Florida, where they formed lasting friendships with people from around the world and created a place that brought their community together.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her sons, William Bean and Jonathan (Teresa) Bean, who were the center of her world. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Douglas Nafziger and Natalie (Tony) Letterio.
Daria treasured her grandsons, Adrian Bean and Jon Bean. She lovingly embraced her step-grandchildren Jessica and Jonah Varner, Hailee and Nick Lee, Marisa and Anthony Evans, Kross and Ashley Letterio, Kayla Letterio, and Breanna and Ryan Kurtz, along with her great-grandchildren. Adrian held a particularly special place in her heart and brought her immense pride and happiness.
She will also be lovingly remembered as a cherished sister to Natalie Chomyk-Daniels, Victoria and Frank Zimmer, Dwight and Karen Nafziger, and Dawn and Gary Huber; aunt to Tony (Jennifer Zona) Chomyk, Heather Daniels, Michelle (Patrick) Arch; dear cousin, and loyal friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anastasia and Antin Chomyk, in-laws Donna and Maurice Nafziger and her brother, Michael. We find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion in heaven.
Her love, her heritage, and the way she brought people together will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on March 9, 2026 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice at tidewellfoundation.org or Cleveland Maidan Association at clevelandmaidan.info in her memory.
