David J. Lavender

David J. Lavender, age 89, of Venice, died on April 5, 2015. He was born in Barnesville, Georgia on February 4, 1926, and came to Venice from Albany, GA 25 years ago. He attended Gordon Military Academy and received his B.S. from the University of Georgia. David was an avid fisherman and a master gardener. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps. David is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kathryn, four sisters and one niece. He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn, one sister and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Venice on Wednesday, April 15th, at 11 AM. Memorial donations in David's name should be directed to Tidwell Hospice.
