Donald Lee Slagley

Donald Lee Slagley, of Venice, FL, passed away on March 9, 2017. He was born in Argos, IN on October 22, 1927. He has been a Venice resident for 30 years, coming from Mahomet, IL. Don was a sales manager for Marathon Oil Company of Findlay, OH for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He served in the US Navy, and was a member of the American Legion NO-VEL Post 159 and the Venice-Nokomis Elks Lodge. Surviving family members include sons Brad Slagley (Janet) of Maryville, TN, Scott Slagley (Michele) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Kirk Slagley (Helen) of St. Joseph, IL; grandchildren Kyle Slagley of Shanghai, China, Colton Slagley of Knoxville, TN, Jason Slagley of Hudson, IL, Jared Slagley of Normal, IL, Matthew Slagley of Charlottesville, VA, Kimberly Capagalan of Philadelphia, PA, Dylan Slagley and Tyler Slagley, both of St. Joseph, IL; and great-grandson Caden Slagley of Hudson IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Slagley, and son, Jon Slagley. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 4-6 pm at the Waterford Golf and Country Club in Venice.
