Doris M. Sullivan, age 82, of Venice, FL, passed away on August 14, 2017. She was born to Richard and Marie Kopp in Newark, NJ on August 27, 1934.
Doris grew up in Irvington and had wonderful memories of her childhood in New Jersey, in particular her visits to her Aunt’s German bakery and the Olympic Park amusement park. During her adult life, Doris lived in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Texas before moving to Florida in 1982 from Groton Long Point, CT, where she ran the local the post office. Doris enjoyed working for many years at Books-A-Million in Sarasota. One of her greatest loves was visiting Disney World with her children and many grandchildren. She especially enjoyed attending the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot every year with her daughters Patty and Barbie and ""Scottish daughter"" Maureen (Larry). Surviving family members include her children, George Sullivan (Jill) of Darien, CT, Tim Sullivan (Laurene) of Mumford Cove, CT, Patty Bastek (Bill) of Nokomis, Terry Sullivan (Deanna) of Venice, and Barbara Starkey (Jeff Schoeneman) of Venice; grandchildren Susan, Colleen (Mike), Bridget, George, Jennifer (Derick), Megan, Carrie (JR), Patty, Stephanie, Ryan, Monica, Mary, Stephen (Ariana), and Lisa; great grandchildren Lilly, Jordan, Emsley, Matilda, Amelia, Trey, and Emma Kate; sister-in-law Beth Kopp; nieces and nephews Cathy Ann, Richard, Krystina, Karl, Katie, and numerous cousins in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband George and her brother Richard.
Services will be held at a later date.
