Eleanor E. Carlson

Eleanor E. Carlson, 95, died Saturday, October 15th in Venice, Florida. She was born in Farmersville, New York on July 3, 1921 to Ward and Mildred Campbell. She graduated from Otto-Eldred High School in 1939 and Bradford School of Nursing in 1942. Eleanor enlisted in the Army in 1943 and was sent to England in July, 1944 to care for those wounded in the Normandy Invasion. Upon her return, she married Arnold Carlson whom she had met during her assignment at Valley Forge, PA hospital. Eleanor worked intermittently as a registered nurse while raising her children. She later retired from the Kingsville Telephone Company. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church in Kingsville, Ohio. Her parents pre-deceased her along with her sisters, Dona Snow of Yreka, California and Glenna Hughes of Lake Wales, Florida. Survivors include her husband Arnold and son Ron of Venice, Florida; daughter Dyan of Naperville, Illinois; granddaughter, Megan Martin (Michael) and great-granddaughters Emerson and Leighton of Hinsdale, Illinois.
