Elizabeth A. "Betty" Wade

Elizabeth ""Betty"" Wade, age 92, of Venice, died Sunday, February 5, 2017. She was the wife of the late Bill Wade, to whom she was married for 66 years. Betty was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas and Bess Haggerty. She leaves a daughter, Carol Morones (Rudy) of Venice, FL; grandsons Michael (Kelly) of Fredericksburg, VA and Edward of Ft. Worth, TX; and a great granddaughter Mary. She was a longtime resident of Venice having retired here in 1987 from Centerport, NY where she was employed at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. She spent much of her time in Venice volunteering at the Elephant's Trunk. The family would like to thank the staff at Bay Breeze Health and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and professionalism during the time Betty was in their care. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TideWell Hospice.
