Frank Lawrence "Larry" Jones

Frank Lawrence “Larry” Jones of Nokomis, Florida was born in Arcadia, Florida on December 23, 1935 and passed away on May 19, 2026 at the age of 90. Prior to him moving to Nokomis 30 years ago he resided in Venice. Larry was the Assistant Postmaster in Nokomis and retired in 1990.

He served in the U.S. Army where he was a medic driver and played on the U.S. Army baseball team. Larry was a member of the Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church. He was the recipient of the American Legion Certificate of School Award in High School for possession of high qualities of Honor, Courage, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.

Larry is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Toni) Jones of Nokomis, Florida; a son, Kenneth (Gina) Jones of Nokomis, Florida; two daughters, DeEtte (Tom) Briner of Venice, Florida, Denise Jones of Venice, Florida and a sister, Margaret David of Venice, Florida. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Madyson) Jones, Lauren Jones and her fiancé Kenny Harvey, Cortney (Shawn) Poneleit, Cullen Pez, Caleb Jones, Ethan Jones, Apryl (Nick) Freesland, Rachael Briner (Van Franklin), Zach (Sarah) Ahlbriner and great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Tripp, Easton, Archer, Quinlynn, Jovie, Oakley, Oliver and Westley. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin P. Jones; his mother, Pearl Jones; a sister, Mariam Gorenflo and a granddaughter, Nicole Jones.

A graveside service for immediate family will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Jesse Knight Memorial Cemetery in Nokomis, Florida. An open house for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
