Gertrude Morgan

It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude ‘Gert’ Morgan of Venice, Florida, announces her passing on Friday, March 9th at the age of 79. Gert was born to Gertrude and Mario Martinez in Miami, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Miami Senior High in 1956. She then married her husband, Robert, in 1959, before giving birth to her son in 1961. She worked over 30 years at Florida Power and Light. In her spare time, Gert deeply enjoyed sewing, crafts, as well as boating in the Caribbean with friends and family. Gert and her husband moved to Venice at the start of their retirement and they have lived in the area for 22 years. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert, her son, Mathew, and her twin sister, Mariana. Family and friends are invited to attend the burial service on Tuesday, March 13th at 12pm at Venice Memorial Gardens, located at 1950 Center Road, Venice. Flowers may be sent to Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory, 265 South Nokomis Avenue, Venice.
