Gladys Roberts

Roberts, Gladys, 89, of Bradenton, FL passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family on April 21, 2016. She was born in Eben, MI. Gladys attended Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI where she received an associate degree in accounting. Gladys married the love of her life, Paul G Roberts on August 16, 1947. They had a long lasting Christian marriage of 62 years. Gladys and Paul moved to Detroit, MI in 1950 with their children when her husband began his career at the Ford Motor Company. Gladys raised five children and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, sewing, baking, counted cross-stitch and working as a bookkeeper. She taught her children the love of God, how to work diligently and persevere in all circumstances. Gladys enjoyed her retirement years at Long Lake in Hillman, MI and Venice FL. She and her husband traveled, square danced, and were active in the Roman Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Roberts-Moore (Thomas), Gladeen Roberts-Margraf (David), and Paula Roberts Buchele; sons, Daniel P Roberts and David G Roberts (Laurie); nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday April 25, 2016 from 9:00-9:30am followed by a funeral Mass at St Thomas More Catholic Church Chapel, 2506 Gulf Gate Dr. Sarasota, FL 34231. Entombment at Venice Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family requests no flowers.
