Henry M. Beach

Henry M. “Chick” Beach of Osprey, FL passed away after a very short illness on January 6 in Venice FL. Henry was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 16, 1935 to Marguerite Temple Beach and Henry Milford Beach. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Janet Scheele Beach; their five children Linda Beach of San Diego CA, Cynthia Chase-Beach (Gregg Chase) of Branford CT, Timothy Beach (Haven Gaston) of Siesta Key, Allison Hamley (Derik) of Osprey FL and Stephanie Foster of Sarasota. He has seven grandchildren; Cole Chase-Beach, Avery Beach, Carson Beach, Walker Henry Beach, Cameron Hamley, Turner Hamley and Joseph Foster III. He lived in Milford, CT for many years, graduating from Milford High School. He received a degree in Business Administration from The University of Connecticut. He entered the United States Army and was a member of the Counter Intelligence Corps. After his discharge, he worked in the metal manufacturing industry at the Lycoming Division of The Avco Corporation, Stratford CT in their missile program; Utica Tool Division of The Kelsey-Hayes Corporation, Orangeburg SC as Executive Vice President of Manufacturing; Bates File Division of London International, Venice FL as Executive Vice President and O.F. Mossberg Firearms, North Haven CT as Executive Vice President until retirement. He volunteered at Venice Hospital, Epiphany Cathedral, the Sandra Terry Center after- school program and the Laurel Nokomis Middle School math tutoring program. He was named Man of The Year in Columbia SC in the 1960’s. He served as President of The American Heart Association in Venice FL. He was a member of Epiphany Cathedral, St. Mary’s Church, Branford CT and The Oaks Country Club. He spent many weeks each year at The Owenego Beach and Tennis Club in Branford CT. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his seven loving grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as Papa.
