Jack G. Shultz
Jul 4, 1942 — Jun 27, 2026
Jack G. Shultz, age 83, of Venice, Florida, passed away on June 27, 2026. He was born on July 4,1942 in Muncie, Indiana
In 1956 Jack moved to Sarasota with his family and was the first graduating class from Riverview High School, where he took pride in being the Captain of the Rams Basketball Team. His letterman jacket still hangs in his closet.
As a young man Jack began his 48-year career in banking. Most of those years were in Venice where he helped build and run Community National Bank.
He was a member of the Venice Church of the Nazarene for 44 years, where he remained on the church board and served as the church treasurer. During this time Jack spent years being a Rotarian and served at one time as President. He also enjoyed being on the board of Loveland School and keeping his children involved with the Loveland students.
Jack, better known as Bumpy, is survived by his wife Joanie, his three daughters, Suzanne Shultz of Salem, Oregon, Jackie Shultz of Port Charlotte, Jeanette and her husband Robert (Robby) Tuck of North Port and brother Kit Shultz of Englewood. His life's biggest treasures were his grandchildren, Emmaleigh Floyd (17), Ryder Tuck (16), Dawson Tuck (14), Corbin Tuck (8) and Beckham Tuck (3).
Most of his vacation plans over the years included his grandkids. The Cabin in Georgia overflowed with baseball, rafting, boating and lots of tubing down the Chattahoochee River. One of Bumpy's favorite past times at the cabin was sitting around the firepit telling jokes. The entire family love the big July 4th (his birthday) picnic and fireworks each year.
Also included in Bumpy's family are his nieces Sharma (Monti) Herring of Nashville, Tennessee and Shana (Bryan) Pearl, their children Nathan and Brianna of Chattanooga, Tennessee. His nephew Steve (Jennifer) Brown, their children Lola and Archie of Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Helen Shultz, sister Nancy Brown and nephew Greg Brown.
A Celebration of Life for Jack will be held at the Venice Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm. An ice cream social will follow the celebration at the church.
