James Weber Leis, 77, of Venice, FL passed away December 1, 2015. Jim was born April 4, 1938 and grew up in DesPlaines, IL. Jim worked in sales in the telecommunication and iron industries. Later in his career he was an international trade advisor at the World Trade Center as well as Northwestern University in Chicago. He was a member of several advisory boards in the city of Venice. He also enjoyed his involvement with the Golden Beach Associates where he served as Vice President and Director. Jim’s hobbies included fishing and golf. In addition, he was an avid wood carver of Northern ducks, shore birds and song birds. He will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Jim was married to his wife, Kay, for 54 years. They have three daughters, Sue, Amy and Anne, and six grandchildren, Katy, Sarah, Allie, Lucas, Ben and Jack. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 5 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Please join Jim’s family for a casual dinner following the service at Lake Venice Golf Club.
