Jane B. Goris of Nokomis, Florida formerly from Logansport, Indiana passed away on March 13, 2014.
Jane was born to Clark L. Baker and Earlma Peters Baker on August 27, 1927 in Lafayette, Indiana. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High in 1945 . Jane attended Purdue University, was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked for RCA in Marion, Indiana upon her graduation from Purdue.
On February 2, 1952 she married Dale E. Goris. They moved to Logansport, Indiana in 1953 where they raised their family and resided until 1996 when they moved to Florida.
Jane was a member of Tri Kappa were she held several offices including President. She was a volunteer for many organizations including The American Red Cross. She was an avid golfer and a member of Mission Valley Country Club. During her golfing years she had four hole-in-ones and two eagles. Jane loved sports of all kinds and would spend countless hours watching whatever sporting event was on the television, especially her beloved Boilermakers. She also enjoyed gardening and being outside.
Jane is survived by her husband, Dale, five children Dr. Jack Goris (Anita), Lafayette, Indiana; Nancy Mills (Doug), Crawfordsville, Indiana; Dirk Goris (Cheryl), Dallas, Texas; Dr. James Goris (Lori), Evansvillle, Indiana; and Dr. David Goris, Brownsburg, Indiana and twelve grandchildren, Kyle Goris ( Hilari), Carmel, Indiana; Suzanne Mills, Marietta, Ohio; Jaclyn Cosantina (Chris), Chicago, Illinois; Jamie Mills(fiancee Casey), Ankeny, Iowa; Kate Goris, Chicago, Illinois; Blake and Adam, Goris, Dallas, Texas; Amy, Matt, Will, Luke and Jake Goris, Evansville, Indiana. Preceeding her in death were her parents and twin sister, Jean.
A memorial service will be held at Siesta Key Chapel on March 29, 2014 at 2:00pm. A graveside ceremony will be scheduled later in West Lafayette, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jane’s name to either to Siesta Key Chapel, 4615 Gleason Ave. Sarasota, FL 34242 or Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612.
