Jean O. Heuman

Jean Oldham Heuman, age 88, died of melanoma on August 4, 2015 at her home in Venice, Florida. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 7, 1927, daughter of William E. Oldham and Ruth E. Joslin. Jean earned a BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan, 1944, Delaware, Ohio; Master's in Elementary Education from Salem State College, 1969; and a Master of Psychology from Boston State College, 1978. She taught elementary school in Stoneham, Massachusetts for 25 years. She was a member of PSI CHI (national honor society in psychology), National Genealogical Society, First Families of Ohio, and Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ralph Heuman. She is survived by her son Douglas Manning Heuman and wife Cassandra Blythe Wright, son Robert Wesley Heuman and wife Elizabeth Anne Swanson, daughter Nancy Carolyn Heuman, and daughter Linda Catherine Heuman and partner Amy Remensnyder; grandchildren Benjamin Wright-Heuman, Laura Heuman Parkinson and partner Walter Blaurock, Erin Heuman Parkinson, Mary Jacqueline Heuman, and Inde Linnea Heuman; and her longtime companions Guy Oldham and Arnold Carlson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice, 1971 Pinebrook Rd., Venice, Florida 34292. A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice at a later date to be announced.
