Jean Alice Leslie, age 84, died peacefully on February 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born on November 16, 1930, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lloyd H McGregor and Marie Sholley. Jean married the love of her life and childhood sweetheart, Leroy E. Leslie Jr., on September 29, 1951, in Johnstown, PA. Jean and Leroy were married for 63 wonderful years. They made their home in Joliet, Illinois for 35 years where they raised six children. Jean worked at Al Baskins for many years before she and Leroy retired to Venice, Florida in 1995. Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy. Jean is survived by her sister Joanne Nowading of McKeesport, PA; children, Sue (Jim) Howen of Venice, FL, Dave (Melissa) Leslie of Billings, MT, Jeffrey Leslie of Venice, FL, Sandy (Bill) Gullickson of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Laurie (Richard) Jackel of Nashville, TN and Daniel (Terri) Leslie of Gilbert, AZ. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jean was a loving and amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all those that knew this incredible women. A special thanks to the loving team at Tidwell Hospice of Venice, FL for making our mom comfortable in her final days. A celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Rd, Venice, FL, on Wednesday, February 25th at 10:00am.
