Dr. Jerry Biller, 73, of Nokomis, FL ended his journey here on Earth Saturday morning January 23rd, 2016. He made a difference in so many lives that will last forever. He was home where he wanted to be with family at his bedside. He was born August 14, 1942 in Philippi, W.V.
Jerry Biller loved life and lived it to it's fullest spending every minute either as a Father, a Coach or a Teacher; many of them at the same time. Dr. Jerry Biller received his Doctorate Degree in Higher Education and was working on his second doctorate in Technology. Jerry was an educator for over 30 years. He taught math at VeniceHigh School from 1973 – 2003 and at Ringling School of Arts in Sarasota. He was the Wrestling Coach at Venice High from 1973 – 1986 with the first State Champion in Venice High School Wrestling history while playing a key role with his leadership bringing youth wrestling (AAU) to Florida. In 2003 Coach Biller was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Wrestling Coach for his leadership and accomplishments. In 2004 Bogeys inducted him into their Venice Sports Hall of Fame. Coach Biller was Head Wrestling Coach and coached the first Florida wrestling team internationally to Panama, Mexico and Venezuela.
Jerry is survived by his wife Rhoda Biller, daughter Nikkole Warfield, son Jerry Biller II and his 5 grandchildren, Jerry Biller III, Alexis Coleman, Emily Coleman, Cody Bennin, Alyssa Hough and sister Sandy Hurst. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Derrik Biller.
Viewing will be held on Friday January 29th, 2016 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel from 5-8pm and a graveside service to be held Saturday January 30th, 2016 at Venice Memorial Gardens at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Biller Foundation at P.O. Box 66, Valrico, Fl 33594 where the foundation works with organizations and their future leaders in finding and pursuing their ""why"". He lived his life to make a difference. That he did. He not only stood for things, he acted on them and for that, so many of us are fortunate to have him in our life. Visitation Information
