Jerry Joseph Giannillo

Jerry Joseph Giannillo, age 86, of Venice, FL, died on January 22, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 23, 1925 and moved to Florida over 30 years ago from White Plains, NY. He worked for Sarasota County Parks and Recreation for 20 years retiring in 1980. Jerry served in the Army during WWII in the 709th Tank Battalion behind Patten in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Surviving family members include his son, Augustine Giannillo of Sarasota; daughter Frances Hunter of Los Angeles; sisters Mille Alamia of Moscow, PA, Rose Juliano of Haines Falls, NY, and Lisa Mancusi of Brooklyn, NY; brother Frank Giannillo of Middle Island, NY; grandchildren Joy Chalou and Gerald Giannillo; great granddaughter Julea Ann Giannillo and great grandson Damien Chalou. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandson Michael and wife Antoinette Marie.
