Joan Guilmain

Joan Guilmain, 76, of North Port FL passed away peacefully on March19, 2018. Joan was born in Nashua, New Hampshire to Alfred and Catherine Paradis. She was a graduate of Saint Louis High School, Nashua, NH and Holy Ghost Nursing School, Cambridge, MA. She went on to marry Ernest Guilmain and raise three children in Vermont. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Ernie moved to Florida in 2004 where she was active in social organizations, card groups and women's groups. Joan’s true devotion was the love for her husband Ernie and her family. Joan was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. Joan enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, decorating and was an excellent cook. Joan was loving, giving, caring, a good friend, a wonderful mom and above all a loving wife. Joan had a gift of making others feel special when truly she was the one that was special. She will always be loved and will stay in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Joan will be greatly missed by her survivors and husband of 56 years. She is survived by her loving family, her husband Ernie Guilmain; a son Steve Guilmain and his wife Robin, step-daughters Chelsea and Brittany; daughters Penny Faszewski and her husband Edward and their sons Tyler and Riley, Melissa Coombs and her husband Joshua and daughter Sophie; brother Richard Paradis and his wife Kay; sister-in-law Elaine Vaillancourt; sister-in-law Connie Thibault and her husband Maurice and seven nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Catherine, her twin sister Jean Craig and brother-in -law David Vaillancourt. In accordance with Joan's wishes there will be no formal services.
