Joan Lennox

Early in life Joan learned the fine art of counting blessings. She was the youngest of seven children. At age four she lost her father and the blessing of a strong mother and caring siblings was learned. When she was in high school, her mother died and she received the blessing of a new home with her sister Eleanor's family. Around this time, she met and fell in love and married one of her greatest blessings, Fred Lennox. They were blessed with 50 years together. She was blessed with five children, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews aplenty, and friends too numerous to mention. She loved cats, liked dogs, hated snakes and mice. As a military wife, she was blessed with the art of creating a home wherever she landed. She made after school cookies, costumes at the drop of a hat, sewed Easter outfits and prom dresses, and organizers of bake sales loved her cakes and cookies. She enjoyed playing bridge, playing golf and shopping, window or otherwise. She loved British comedy shows, the Big Bang Theory and The Golden Girls. She was an avid reader and life-long learner. For those of us she counted as a blessing, we unconditionally and unreservedly consider her as our blessing. She is and always will be loved. A graveside service will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
