Joan Elizabeth Kurz Miller, 79, of Venice, FL, died on April 19, 2012. She was born on January 24, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to Frederick Kurz and Marie Roller Kurz. Joan received her Bachelor of Nursing from New York State University at Albany and was Director of nursing at South Jersey Health System. She was a member of the South Venice Yacht Club Board of Directors and Vice President of Even Keels. Joan was Catholic and enjoyed scratch offs, eating ice cream, drinking Diet Pepsi, playing pinochle, clothes, shoes, and accessorizing.
Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Miller, Sr. of Venice, FL; children Donald E. Miller, Jr. of Malaga, NJ, Karl (Barbara) Miller of Pennsville, NJ, and Robert “Boz” (Ginny) Miller of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren Alexandra (Brian) Clemens, Sara Miller, Alex Miller, and Crystal Cranmer; great grandchildren Kailey Valerio, Braeden Clemens, Sophia Legates, Brogan Clemens, and Lucas Ramirez; and siblings Fred Kurz and Marie Sharp. Joan was predeceased by Florence Unruh and Francis Kurz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 23rd at 12 noon at the South Venice Yacht Club, 4425 Yacht Club Drive, Venice, FL; all friends are welcome.
